i learned a very important lesson in bachelorhood today: baking soda mixed with water produces a suprisingly powerful cleaning agent. wow. i mean, seriously, i am impressed. i was going to just clean my [thoroughly stained] stove top, but after realizing its sheer power, i ended up cleaning just about every surface in my kitchen!

big thanks to my lovely coworker, beth - an experienced mother - who gave me the tip. my kitchen is sparkling like it was on the day i moved in.

on saturday night a girl told me i look like josh hartnett.

was that a demonstration of:
a) the effect of beer goggles on vision/judgement,
b) a failed attempt to get me to buy her a drink, or
c) profound perceptiveness

i slept in 4 cities, saw 2 oceans, bowled a 225, met gene simmons, and snowboarded through knee-deep powder during this holiday season. i spent a fortune, and it was worth it.

24 hours ago it was over 60 degrees outside. in a few hours it will be december and there hasnt been a hint of snow yet.

who said global warming was a bad thing? clearly there are benefits.

i took a big step in the direction of adulthood today. i bought a silverware set. (adults buy silverware. kids and teens don’t.) so you ask, “if you just bought silverware today, what have you been using for the past year??” well, after buying all of my furniture a year ago, i decided that since i spent so much money i needed to pinch every penny so i bought a set of plastic silverware and told myself that i would use that as long as possible. and folks, the day has come for me to retire my plastic silverware. from now on, i will be using only stainless steel silverware.

and my guests will be using plastic silverware.
